We are proud to design, manage and supplying lighting for the annual Virgin Money Fireworks Concert. The event, staged in Princes Street Gardens beneath Edinburgh Castle, is the traditional finale to Edinburgh's festival season and is attended by an estimated audience of 250,000 people.
Events of this scale take many months of planning and involve close liaison with sponsors, artists, local authorities and emergency services to guarantee a safe and successful show.
Blue Parrot's Dave Morris has looked after the show for 12 years and leads a large team on-site for 5 days all working towards the 45 minute show where the Scottish Chamber Orchestra perform pieces accompanied by the beautiful firework display overhead. The show is an excellent example of Blue Parrot's ability to deliver lighting, mains distribution, rigging services and project management to the very highest level on a world class event.
The lighting for the event makes the most of our large stock of LED and automated fixtures to beautifully present the orchestra on stage as well as the surrounding gardens, to complement the music and fireworks.
It really is an amazing event and we'd highly recommend visiting to enjoy the spectacle - and the lighting of course!
Richard Branson talks about this event in his blog here.
